The consultation
The consultation was in respect of the Proposed Material Alterations to Proposed Variation No. 1 of the Tipperary County Development Plan 2022-2028. The purpose of Variation No. 1 is to address the ‘NPF Implementation: Housing Growth Requirements Guidelines for Planning Authorities’ issued under Section 28 of the Planning and Development Act, 2000 (as amended). Consultation on the Proposed Material Alterations opened on 1st July 2026 and closed on 30th July 2026. 38 submissions were received.
Your views and suggestions
The Chief Executive's Report of Tipperary County Council on the consultation is attached and sets out a number of recommendations.
Outcomes
The Chief Executive Report will be considered by the Elected Members of Tipperary County Council at the Plenary Council Meeting on 14th September 2026 where they shall, by resolution –
(i) Make the variation as originally proposed by the planning authority.
(ii) Make the variation with the material alteration that was subject of notice.
(iii) Refuse to make the variation.
