Tipperary County Council, in partnership with Reddy Architecture + Urbanism, are continuing the progression of the Feasibility and Concept Design for the redevelopment of the 2.7 acre Goldcrop site as part of the Carrick-on-Suir Riverside Regeneration Project.
Following on from the recent public consultation survey, which attracted over 2,000 responses and demonstrated strong support for the development of this key town centre site, the draft Masterplan is now placed on public display.
The Masterplan has been informed by the findings of the consultation, which highlighted employment opportunities, green spaces, accessibility, parking, and sustainability as key priorities for the community.
Members of the public are invited to view the Masterplan at the Town Hall, Carrick-on-Suir, Carrick-on-Suir Libraryand the documents available on this page from Monday 25th May at 9:30am to Friday June 5th at 4:30pm. This will provide an opportunity to review the emerging proposals and provide further feedback.
An in-person public consultation event will also take place in Ormond Castle on Thursday 28th May from 4:00pm to 7:00pm, where members of the project team will be available to discuss the Masterplan and engage directly with members of the public.
The Goldcrop site is positioned close to Dillon Bridge and is adjacent to North Quay and Castle Lane. It is located between Ormond Castle and Main Street and lies to the rear of key cultural and enterprise assets including Brewery Lane Theatre, Strand Theatre, the Tudor Artisan Hub, and the former An Post building currently being renovated under Phase 3 of the Carrick-on-Suir Regeneration Plan.
This stage of consultation provides a further opportunity for the people of Carrick-on-Suir and the wider area to help shape the future development of this strategically important site. Feedback received during this phase will help inform the finalisation of the Masterplan.
The Carrick-on-Suir Riverside Regeneration Project is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the EU Just Transition Fund.
